Session with Bawa-n-Dinesh in Delhi on 21Jan'09

I am sure it must have happened sometime in your life, you are walking on the street, just passing a cake shop, and you slow down wondering whether you should give in to the temptation and indulge, you have almost decided not to, and a gentle breeze parcels a whiff of sweet aromatic air right into your nose! You almost taste the black forest with cherries or a wlanut almond or a pineapple watermelon with roasted cashew toppings....yuummmmm....Now you are left with no choice. In the next couple of minutes you are walking out of the shop licking the melting chocolate off your fingers :-)

Bawa and Dinesh visited Delhi for a couple of days and all of the above happened, metaphorically and actually too! And their session on the 21st evening was like that - a gentle whiff packed with a lot of goodies.

Bawa said Guruji explained dispassion beautifully. He said, a desire to have any pleasurable experience springs up when you see or hear something about it. This desire or craving is called 'Trishna'. For e.g. till you have not heard about Bali, you had no desire to visit Bali.

Not giving in to the Trishna is 'Vairagya' (dispassion).

As we grow up our desires get mature and refined.

1. My dad has threatened me that if I go for the upcoming YES!+ in Simla, then I will have to leave him and my house for ever. I have already paid and registered. What should I do?

Bawa: Wow, thats great! Just say good bye and go to Simla. (laughter in the audience) If your dad really doesnt take you back home, then go to the ashram and do seva :-). Tell him when you feel like calling me back, just call me, ok, byeeee, Jai Guurdev ;-). Dont ask for permission from your dad, just tell him I am going and ask for blessings. Tell him that he has given you such good upbringing, which has made you capable of making the right decisions. Tell him there is nothing more I can ask from you dad, as you have already given me everything. The only thing you can give me now is blessings... (applause).

2. My mom becomes emotional and throws tantrums and blackmails me saying she will not talk to me if I do seva and do AOL activities.

Bawa: Never give in to the emotional blackmail of parents. Know that they love you intensely so they behave like that. Most of them do not have experience of hard core seva, so they do not understand the significance and depth of what you are doing.

Bau said you are so lucky you have parents who protest, who take so much interest in your life, who are bothered about you, who care to bother about you. Not every parent does that.

So when your parents crib, just feel grateful.

I forgot a few things, there were lot of rip-roaring laughter moments.

Bau made it sound so light and yet so profound when he said that may be Guruji has asked Delhi YES!+ to do the 1 lac people March on 28th Feb against terrorism and corruption ( just to keep the volunteers busy or maybe it could lead to a very powerful transformation of our country.

And then Bau shared some funny and touchy Guru stories. I am not going tom take the effort to type all that. You missed it.

YES!+ Adda @ Delhi

Friends I am back on the blog after a long winter break. The YES!+ team here in Delhi is growing and warming up to unleash itself on the city to launch a fiery awakening... ATAC.

On the 28th Feb 2009, 1 lac people will march together and gather at The Boat Club or Rajghat (one of these two venues will be finalized soon - both are of very high political significance) to voice out a unanimous message of Anti Terrorism & Anti Corruption (ATAC).

Guruji once had given a message for youth, "Masti ki Aag Bano!"

And a lot of masti is happening here.

For the last 2 days we the 'Nav Ratnas of Sri Sri' ( 9 YES!+ teachers) are staying together at Safdarjung Enclave. Avinash, Upasana, Vishal, Mandeep, Ram, Kapil, Pawan, Gauri Bhake and myself. However the top contender for the 'Masti ka Badshah' award is the ever enthusiastic super funny Ashish Tiku who is also staying with us.

Daybefore I did the YES!+ homework of 6th day of the something adventurous which you have never done before. Well, actually Ram and Kapil were completing the same homework...they were cooking dinner!!! And I ate it successfully. Guruji says, "Having an unshakable smile on your face, come what may, is success." Now, do you get why I mentioned in bold letters ...ate it successfully? :-) Well, it had actually turned out quite good as you can see below. The Aloo parathas were made by Kapil and the mix veg by Ram. When I told this to Bawa, he asked, "Could you even make out which was what?" ha ha.

I know it doesnt look yummy, and neither did it taste yummy. But for a first time performance it definitely was a courageous and successful effort. The aroma of sincerity and the taste of love was evident. Thanks Ram and Kapil, for rising up to the occassion and driving out starvation from the YES!+ Adda @Delhi by demonstrating your Stand-Up&Take-Action attitude.

Yesterday Ashish (nick named Dev Anand) surprised evryone at 1230 in the night. He made broccoli-mushroom-zuccini soup. It was simply EXCELLENT. The soup was garnished with stories of Bawa, Vinod Menon, Rishi Vidyadharji, Rishi Nityapragya, Dinesh bhaiya and your and my favourite 'Guru stories'. The last few morsels and drops were licked off the vessel and fingers at 2.20 am when we finally decided to say good night.

Satsang with Meghal Bhaiya...and Dance

Gurgaon, 29th Dec, 2008

A meditation conducted in Guruji's voice...which he recently conducted in Canada. It completely silenced my mind. And after that Meghal bhaiya played an audio of Guruji's talk. To be frank, I dont remember much from that talk, but at that moment every word was just getting assimilated and absorbed in my system!

After that talk, Meghal bhaiya said one line, "All past lifetimes we have worried about ourself, can't we live this one life time for others?" That very moment I decided that this lifetime I am going to focus only on making a difference to others! ...well, who are 'OTHERS'? and WHO am I?....:-) ok lets not get into that now...bcos its 1.30 just thru after a long (however, seemed very short as we had a lovely time getting in touch after months!!!) conference chat on skype with my IIT Mumbai YES!+ student-friends...and have a group sadhana at 6 am followed by Guru Puja and Meditation on Rudram, in Preet Vihar.

Well after Meghal bhaiyas snippets of wisdom, we rocked...on Bollywood remix...Ek ladki bheegi bhagi si, Mehbooba, etc.

All of us left back so content and grateful! Oh...such a Blessing, being a devotee is! Love you Guruji. Jai Gurudev
