We reached to 1000 Delhites in 2 hrs

We went like this in the metro from Keshav Puram to Kashmere Gate to Rajiv Chowk and back. The response was very strong.

People were eyeing us as though we were celebrities (of corse we are), some looked with suspicion, some even with some fear and insecurity....may be they though we are the goons of the politicians or politicians of the goons ;-)

Some people even asked us who should we vote, we just said, we need a change!

Some asked us, who are you supporting? We said doesn't matter. You make your choice.

Some were cribbing, its not going to make any difference. Some were appreciating our efforts, some started arguing with us.

It was fun.

I realized even more strongly the extent and intensity of the apathy in the Indian educated masses about the Indian political scenario. Most people have given up hope. People have lost trust in governance, they are disgusted.

But I am determined to make a difference, and so can you.

VOTE and tell 10 others to VOTE, for a change.

All the best

Communalising Politics

See the video below. I don't know why IBNLive has used the word FATWA, but its quite evident from the video that the Muslims and Christians in Karnataka are mixing religion with politics and being NON-SECULAR.

Muslims and Christians are so loud and take pride in voicing their narrow-minded, religious, non-secular Muslim/Christian agendas. When they do this they are justified as being protective about their minority community, and if Hindus do it they are termed religious and communal and non-secular.

‘The remote control of your life is in your hands’ - Sri Sri

Friends,

This is an awesome blog. The latest wisdom from Guruji is posted on this.

http://wisdomfromsrisri.blogspot.com/

The latest post talks about:

"You be a role model. It is only spirituality that can bring transformation in the nation. Devoid of spirituality, politics becomes so corrupt."

“Save your mind at all costs. We talk about saving the environment, saving the world but not the mind. Tell yourself: I am in charge of my life, my mind. Nobody can make me unhappy.”

"When you feel that you have everything now, you will have more. Do you know who gets invited to dinners? The one who has plenty to eat. Feel the plentitude."

Q. What is the secret behind the ever-green smile?

A.: I have no idea. Perhaps it’s because I always walk my talk and talk my walk.)

Q. How to become an angel?

A.: There is no way. You already are one!

Q. Do you ever get hurt in love?

Q. Can students be equal to their Guru? If yes, then how?

Q. Are the Mahabharata and Ramanayana true?

Q. How to react when a close one breaks your trust?

Q. How does one balance seva and studies?

Q. There is a lot of back-stabbing and politics in my office.

Q. What is beauty?

Brahmin forefathers...SC/ST Grandchildren!?

By Subramanian Swamy, former Union Law Minister

Excerpts from an article written on 03 Dec, 2006 on www.organiser.org

Full article here

In India, Dhimmi status for Hindus during Islamic imperialist rule has had other social implications. Defiant Brahmins and Kshatriyas, who had refused to convert and chose to remain Hindus, were forced to carry night-soil and suffer great indignities for their women folk. Or it meant gross mental torture.

Guru Tegh Bahadur, for example, had to see his sons sawed in half, before the pious Guru’s own head was severed and displayed in public.

The debasement of Hindu society then was such that those targeted valiant Brahmins and Kshatriyas, who had refused to convert and thus made to carry night-soil, were disowned by other Hindus and declared to be asprashya or “untouchable”.

The ranks of the Scheduled Caste community, which was not more than 1 per cent of the population before the advent of Islam in India, swelled to 14 per cent by the time Mughal rule collapsed.

... Swami Dayanand Sarasvati boldly wrote to the Vatican Pope, nevertheless if an Indian Muslim or Christian changes his religion to Hinduism today, I will not regard it as conversion because it is a return to the Hindu fold of those whose ancestors had been forcibly converted.

Unlike Hinduism, which says not a word against non-believers, in fact says that other religions also lead to God, Islam is harsh on them, and justifies violence against them as sacred.

Sheer BLISS

Just couldnt resist writing about what I experienced a couple of hours back.

We heard Gurujis talk 'Your Nature is Gratefulness' of the Ashtavakra Gita series. It was awesome. Very subtle and profound and towards the end Guruji made us laugh so much I tell you. And in the end he told us to find reasons to be grateful.

The moment the talk got over Nitin (Nikhil Kathurias brother) played the slow Narayan....Narayan....Jai Govind Hare....., Narayan....Narayan....Jai Gopal Hare.....sung by Vikram. It was the recording of a satsang.

I have no words to express what that bhajan did to all of us. I was completely transported to the ashram. Feeling so grateful for Guruji, the way he has handled my life and given so much, for having filled my life with divinity, grace, faith and paramanand.

As the song was ending Vikram started Your Home is in my heart...!

Need I write any further?

Oh Guruji! Zarurat se jyada, aur samay se pehle, you give so much, I am not big enough to take!

Love you Guruji, ever gratefully yours,
Jai Gurudev
PS: Ever since Guruji has returned back to India (12th night) I am feeling his presence in me stronger. So fortunate!

Love Bytes

Words of wisdom from Guruji on the following topics

By now your fundas should be clear ;-)

Love Moves the World

Jai Gurudev

The Bliss of Puja

Yesterday we did Guru puja and then meditated on the Rudra Puja chants...a short satsang with Shiva bhajans followed after that. It felt so much like being in the ashram. A few YES!+ volunteers were amongst the 325 who became Blessers and/or Healers on Sunday 12th Apr. So there was celebration in the air in the YES!+ adda since last evening.

No no...now the adda has been shifted. B-24 Lajpat Nagar was the UTSAV adda. No yaar, A1-266, Safdarjung Enclave was the MARCH-in-MARCH adda. Now its C-119, Ashok Vihar.

The first sms I saw after the puja read... '..I am in the Bangalore ashram,...we just finished rudra puja with Guruji...' :-)

We caught your presence in India Guruji! We are your good devotees no? ;-)

Today Vishal did the Guru puja...after which we chanted Guru Om for 3 to 5 min. The meditation that followed was so deep and with such strong Guru presence. Vishal has been doing the Guru puja with the vidhi (ritual) now for the last 26 consecutive days without break! I guess only Rishi Vidyadharji and Bhanu didi can beat that. If you know anyone else, feel free to enlighten me.

Feels so Satvik after the pujas.

'Satva se karma phal ki siddhi hoti hai'

Satva brings perfection in achieving the fruits of your actions. I am looking forward to what happens tomorrow. We are going to meet the BJP candidate from the Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency in the morning, do some VOTE-FOR-CHANGE campaigning in the slums in the day followed by a few meetings and in the evening Vishal and me are starting a YES!+ course in DCE(Delhi College of Engg).

Eagerly waiting to see what results our punya and satva gets for us. Of course, tomorrow before the above schedule begins we are doing 2 hours of sadhana followed by Guru puja...ha ha...to pack ourselves with arms and ammunition for the day.

Who are you trying to fool, Mr. Naik?

Question: Why is a man allowed to have more than one wife in Islam? i.e. Why is polygamy allowed in Islam?

(2/2)Misconceptions About Islam - By Dr. Zakir Naik. This is a lecture by Dr. Zakir Naik held in P.U.B. Auditorium, Singapore, 17 October, 1998.

In this video he answers some of the most common misconceptions non-Muslims have about Islam.

Could not decide if the above video is a Commedy:-) ! or Tragedy:-( ?
What do you say??

Wish our Muslim brothers & sisters would adhere to the Quran

TOP 10 MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT ISLAM
by Huma Ahmad on www.jannah.org

Full article here

EXCERPTS...

MISCONCEPTION #1: Muslims are violent, terrorists and/or extremists.

NOWHERE DOES ISLAM ENJOIN THE KILLING OF INNOCENTS..
The Quran says: "Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (Quran 2:190) "If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things." (Quran 8:61)
...The term 'jihad' literally means 'struggle'. Muslims believe that there are two kinds of jihad. The other 'jihad' is the inner struggle of the soul which everyone wages against egotistic desires for the sake of attaining inner peace.

MISCONCEPTION #2: Islam oppresses women.

... The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) said: "The most perfect in faith amongst believers is he who is best in manner and kindest to his wife."
Violence of any kind towards women ...

MISCONCEPTION #3: Muslims worship a different God.

... However, it should be noted that God in Islam is One and Only. He, the Exalted, does not get tired, does not have a son ie Jesus or have associates, nor does He have human-like attributions as found in other faiths.

MISCONCEPTION #4: Islam was spread by the sword and intolerant of other faiths.

... Quran says: "God forbids you not, with regards to those who fight you not for [your] faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them; for God loveth those who are just. 60:8)
Freedom of religion is laid down in the Quran itself: "There is no compulsion (or coercion) in the religion (Islam). The right direction is distinctly clear from error". (2:256)
.... The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred whether the person is Muslim or not.

MISCONCEPTION #5: All Muslims are Arabs.

The Muslim population of the world is around 1.2 billion. 1 out of 5 people in the world is a Muslim. ... about 18% live in the Arab world and the largest Muslim community is in Indonesia. Most Muslims live east of Pakistan. 30% of Muslims live in the Indian subcontinent, 20% in Sub-Saharan Africa, 17% in Southeast Asia, 18% in the Arab world, and 10% in the Soviet Union and China.

MISCONCEPTION #6: The Nation of Islam is a Muslim group.

Islam and the so called "Nation of Islam'" are two different religions. .... "The Nation of Islam" is a misnomer; this religion should be called Farrakhanism, after the name of its propogator, Louis Farrakhan.

MISCONCEPTION #7: All Muslim men marry four wives.

... Permission to practice polygamy is not associated with mere satisfaction of passion. It is rather associated with compassion toward widows and orphans. It was the Quran that limited and put conditions on the practice of polygamy among the Arabs, who had as many as ten or more wives and considered them "property".

MISCONCEPTION #8: Muslims are barbaric, backward people.

... Many crucial systems such as algebra, the Arabic numerals, and also the concept of the zero (vital to the advancement of mathematics), were transmitted to medieval Europe from Islam.

MISCONCEPTION #9: Muhammad was the founder of Islam and Muslims worship him.

MISCONCEPTION #10: Muslims don't believe in Jesus or any other prophets.

Muslims respect and revere Jesus, upon him be peace, and await his Second Coming. ... Quran confirms his virgin birth (a chapter of the Quran is entitled 'Mary'), and Mary is considered the purest woman in all creation...

Uniform Civil Law

By Subramanian Swamy, former Union Law Minister

Excerpts from an article written on 03 Dec, 2006 on http://www.organiser.org/

Full article here

In a Hindu country why should there be a separate Law for non-Hindus?

Hindus had been dhimmis for six hundred years in those parts of India despite being a bigger majority in the country than even today. Hence, a majority is not enough. Hindus need also a Hindu mindset to be free.

Thousands of Muslims had demonstrated on the streets demanding that the government not bring legislation that would nullify the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Shah Bano case but in vain.

Supreme Court v/s Shariat. Who is greater?

Rajiv Gandhi, I learnt later, on counsel from his Italian Catholic family, had surrendered to the hard line clerics who protested that the Supreme Court had no right to interfere and to de facto amend the Shariat, the Islamic law code. These relatives on a directive from the Vatican thought that if secular law would be applied to Muslims, it can be to the Christians too. This was a nonsense argument of the Muslim clerics, since the Shariat had already been amended, without protest, in the criminal law of India.

The Indian Penal Code represents the uniform criminal code that equally applies to all religious communities. I therefore ask the clerics: if a Muslim is caught stealing, can any court in India direct that his hand at the wrist be cut off as the Shariat prescribes? If Muslims can accept a uniform criminal code what is the logic in rejecting the uniform civil code?

A true Muslim is Dr. Jekyll when in minority, and Mr. Hyde when in majority.

So what should we Hindus do?

First, recognise that being a pious Hindu is not enough. Hindus must unite and work to install a Hindu-minded government. If 35 per cent of the 83 per cent Hindus unite to vote for a party, absolute majority is attainable, a party that espouses an approved Hindu agenda, then the union government is within reach through the ballot box.

Second, search for those Muslims who are ready to openly and with pride declare that their ancestors were Hindus. My guess is that about 75 per cent of Muslims will be ready to do so. These are the Muslims who can be co-opted by Hindus to fight Islamic fundamentalism. If we do not do so, then the Muslim clerics will have a free run of their fanaticism.

For this a required reading is Sri Sri Ravishankar’s Hinduism & Islam: Dedicated to the People of Pakistan Who have Forgotten Their Own Roots [www.artofliving.org]. In this Sri Sri Ravishankar has shown how “Muslims have completely forgotten that their forefathers were Hindus, so they have every right to Vedic culture”.
He in fact traces the pre-Islam origins of the K’aaba.

Third,

a. invest heavily in primary education to make it world class,

b. ban the madrasas for any student below 21 years, and

c. make Sanskrit a compulsory language for all students.

Sounds good. Its a good idea to implement a good idea!

The Beheading of Guru Tegh Bahadur

From SikhiWiki

Jump to: navigation, search
Guru Tegh Bahadar

The Emperor Aurangzeb who had seen to the death of his brother and arrest of his father had been raised and educated by the fundamentalist ulema who had long been ignored by his more liberal predecessors.

His brother Dara Shikoh had been raised by the Sufis and exposed to the more the more universal side of Islam which, though its aim was still to see everyone in the world submit to Islam, they sought to accomplish their goal by peaceful means. The Sikhs and Hindus were on good terms with the Sufis, but Aurangzeb returned the hated Jizia-a tax which took 60% of everything from the Sikh and Hindu farmers.

Aurangzeb had decided that he would change India into a land where sharia would rule. He had decided that Islam would be the only religion of India.

He would allow no new Hindu temples to be built and he gave orders that many be torn down and replaced by Mosques.

A plan was hatched to force the respected Kashmiri Pandits to accept Islam, it was thought that if they converted, the rest of the Hindus would follow. They were told that they would accept or be put to the sword. Some of the Pandits made a pilgrimage to Amarnath to the cave with the lingham of Shiva. Their they had a vision of Shiva who told them to travel to see Guru Tegh Bahadur. Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth in the line of Guru Nanak and lived at Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, Northern India. They resolved to go to him and ask for his protection.

The story continues...

Can the Hindus and Muslims peacefully co-exist in India?

Basic Islam for Hindu Dhimmis
By Subramanian Swamy, former Union Law Minister

Excerpts from an article written on 03 Dec, 2006 on www.organiser.org
Full article here

Temples have been demolished in the Valley on a daily basis. The world could not care less. An American had once told me: “Why should we care? Indian democracy is led by the majority who are Hindus and you want us to talk about the human rights of the community of rulers?”

Are Hindus in majority in India?
We do not have much time, in fact in about 45 years, as the X-graph of statistical regressions estimated by J.S. Bajaj and colleagues shows. ‘X’ represents the two trends—Hindu percentage declining and Muslim percentage rising, and intersecting in the year 2061. We Hindus must understand the true nature of Islam before we can formulate a strategy to defeat those who threaten us.

What happens in Muslim majority areas?
The municipalities of Thondi and Rasathipuram Municipalities of Ramanathapuram and Vellore districts respectively, are in Muslim-majority areas, and the local bodies election had empowered the Muslims with their capture of the municipalities. The Muslim-ruled municipalities have thereafter converted these areas into mini Dar-ul-Islams, in a Hindustan of 83 per cent Hindus!

The minority Hindu areas of the municipality were thus denied civic amenities, funds for schools, garbage clearing etc., and sent notices in Urdu. Hindus were bluntly told convert to Islam if they wanted civic facilities.

I know that in Kashmir Valley, Muslims who are in majority have actively or passively connived in driving out half a million Hindus out of their homes and made them refugees in their own country. But I could not believe that in South India this was possible where Hindus are actually above national average at 90 per cent of the population.

What is Dar-ul-Islam?
Dar-ul-Islam is a Muslim religious concept of a land where Muslims rule, and the non-believers in Islam are termed as Dhimmis. The term Dhimmi was coined after the Jews were crushed in Medina [Khaybar to be exact], and the defeated Jews accepted that if they did not convert to Islam, then they would accept second-class status politically, culturally, and religiously. This included zero civil rights including the right to modesty of women, and the special tax jaziya.

There is thus no scope for Muslims and non-Muslims uniting as equals in the political, cultural, or social system in a Dar-ul-Islam where Muslims rule. Secular order in India thus is possible only when Muslims are not in power.

Minority(Muslim) Appeasement v/s Minority(Hindu) Oppression
The choice to non-believers in Islam is: convert or accept dhimmitude. Hence, the explanation for Thondi, Rasathipuram, Mau etc., and the duality in ethics practised by Muslims everywhere.

Thondi, Rasathipuram and other places prove that the Muslim mind suffers from a dangerous duality—of seeking secularism when out of power and imposing a brutal demeaning theocracy for non-Muslims when in power.

As a Hindu, what is my responsibility?
It is this duality that patriotic Hindus must re-shape by modern education and other means, as also retain its demographic overwhelming majority in India.

His EXCELLENCY

No, I am not referring to His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, definitely not Mr. Manmohan Singh;-)

Embodiment of Excellence Mr. Vinod Menon, my TTC (Art of Living Teachers Training Course - Phase 1) teacher; and I take great pride for having done TTC with Vinod bhaiya.

I was lucky enough to meet him on Thu evening. Some snippets:

....Apply the spirit. Many times the mind, intellect, memory or ego come in the way of the objective of the spirit. For eg. If you want to meet another volunteer to discuss some seva project, the ego may say, he should come to me, why should I go to him? Excercise your awareness and make the intelligent choice of honouring the spiritual objective by overriding the objective of the ego.

Fri, 10 Apr, 12 noon...Vinodji was scheduled to conduct a session for YES!+. We were to finish showing a 20 min video 'Shashi Tharoor interviews Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on CNBC '. At 1150 am we were still struggling with the projector cable and laptop...when he arrived ..10 min before time!

He had won the 65 young hearts just by his mere presence and later even won their minds and spirits. Every 5 min, as the presentation followed, on why we should campaign in the upcoming elections, I was in more and more awe of him.

Perfection, skill, balance of intellect and emotion, unbiased, non-communal and apolitical nature, inspiration, leadership, mentoring, teaching, managing time, humour, youth appeal, wisdom, maturity, dispassion...it was all there in abundance, every moment of the 75 min he was there.

His Excellency, Vindoji surpassed all benchmarks of excellence.

Highlights...

Be an ACTIVE CITIZEN and a MATURE VOTER

We need an INDIAN FACE

10 Crore first time youth voters in India

We need to not only VOTE but also CAMPAIGN

You will become good LEADERS by leading...

You will become good COMMUNICATORS by communicating...

You will become good CAMPAIGNERS by campaigning...

We need to be aligned to BHARATIYA thoughts

We need to REJECT elegantly and CHOOSE intelligently

The ELECTIONS are no longer a POLITICAL issue, its an issue of PSYCHO-SOCIAL FAIRNESS (You must attend his talk to understand what he means by it).

In 2014, the one who is reading this should be contesting for the position of MP and hence we need to start preparing now, as this is our only opportunity to learn how to campaign.

Next 3 weeks we have to keep our other roles aside and assume this new ROLE of a CAMPAIGNER for the sake of our country, our people, our life, our freedom.

Saans lo, DHARM ke liye,

Saans chhodo, RASHTRA ke liye.

Jai Hind!

Today, I learnt that...

We started a YES!+ course in IIT Delhi on Thu 02 Apr.

I learnt that when I give my 100%, when I put my heart, mind, body and soul, to the fullest of my energies and enthusiasm in an action, then I am able to EXCEL; actually I EXCEED my EXPECTATIONS.

I experienced this in the way I conducted the first session of the course.

Jai Gurudev
PS: The 3rd day got over today...50 smiling happy participants are brimming with LIFE

Become a terrorist - get paid by Indian Govt

I am SHOCKED beyond words!!!
Indian Govt is giving FINANCIAL AID to families of TERRORISTS in Kashmir. See below video:

If we allow the current govt to continue I will not be surprised if terror attacks are planned, discussed and officially approved by the Parliament.

We need to throw these ENEMIES of the nation out of power.

Lets all VOTE FOR CHANGE

Some more CREDENTIALS of the current Govt of India

  • On the day of Mumbai train blasts, Govt of India gave Rs 150 crores for earthquake relief in Pakistan
  • Out of 36000 temples in Andhra Pradesh, 28000 have closed down in the last five years.
  • The minorities in Nagaland, Mizoram & Kashmir have not got the similar privileges like the minorities in other states? The Govt is following different rules for different religions?
  • By the Home Minister's own admission : "India is surrounded by a circle of fire". Rajiv Gandhi's vision of a powerful "SAARC" is now defunct.
  • The Pakistani flag is now being hoisted in five districts of Assam. 92000 Hindu and 6000 Christians who have been evicted by Bangladeshi infiltrants, are now languishing in refugee camps. The government has turned a blind eye to this....
...the list is endless...

Don't be deceived. What appears to be communal is not communal, and what appears to be secular is not secular.

Vote for a
Terror free nation,
Criminal free politics,
Corruption free governance,
VOTE FOR CHANGE
