Who is the Teacher?

Since as early morning as 00:03, I have been getting SMS and FB messages and emails wishing me a Happy Teachers Day. Some praises about how well I have taught and how my teachings have made a difference in peoples' lives.

These messages set me thinking and I began wondering, "What and who did I teach?"

A chain of thoughts, like one wave after the other, like the gushing flow of a boisterous river, swept my mind. Images of my various teachers starting from my mother, my Std 3 school teacher, sports teachers, dad, my cousins, my uncles and aunts, neighbors, friends with whom I used to play...etc etc. Very soon my mind was congested with images in a fraction of second, similar to how the silver lined clouds of various shapes make the sky look like a multiple exposed screen when lightning strikes supplemented with sound effects of thunder.

Art of Living teachers, my mentors, college guides ..they all came. A sudden realization came the next moment. My so called 'students', who agreed to listen to and receive from me, without whom I would not be called a teacher. Gratitude welled up, various masterstrokes of HIS grace rose the love smeared energy from my heart chakra upward through the throat and further up.

Awareness dawned...

and the answer that came within a few seconds as clear as a crystal was 'NOTHING & NOBODY'. I have taught nothing and to nobody. I became blank and blissed out. Doership had completely dropped and I was re-connected to the emptiness that I am, have been and will continue to BE.

The farmer only provides the earth, water, manure and heat to the seed. The SEED sprouts.

The cook puts the water in a vessel on the heater, the WATER boils.

Someone puts the switch on, ELECTRICITY flows.

You scratch the card, the NUMBER emerges.

Two beings of the opposite sex mate, a new LIFE is born.

The leader inspires, PEOPLE decide to follow.

The master shows the way, the DISCIPLE decides to walk on the path.

A student reads a book, UNDERSTANDING happens.

A painter mixes two or more colors, a new COLOR emerges.

A singer stimulates his vocal chords, MUSIC flows.

We breathe, LIFE continues.

Man proposes, GOD disposes.

Nature is pregnant with knowledge and an infinite organizing potential. Like the designs exist in the kaleidoscope, you just need to move it a bit to create a new pattern, the teacher does just that.

The Guru does not even give you knowledge, he just heightens your awareness. -- H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Gratitude and Love
